- Type this into onboard
TIP: The code is valid for a very short time, be quick! - Proceed to click on “Activate”
- Save the now displayed back-up codes in a safe place
- The 2-step login has been successfully activated
Authenticator apps
A two-step sign-in process requires an authenticator app on your smartphone.
If you are not using such an app yet, you can search for “authenticator” in your respective app store and download an app of your choice, popular apps include:
- Google Authenticator (Android, iOS)
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Aegis Authenticator
- Raivo OTP
- and many more
The choice is up to you.
Add onboard in the app
When you activate, you need to add onboard in your app as a new platform:
- Open your authenticator app
- Click on the “+” button (usually at the bottom right)
- Now your camera opens and you can scan the QR code
Any further login after activation
After successful activation, each new login after logout is done in two steps:
- You enter your e-mail address and password as usual
- You will be taken to another screen where you will need to enter a new security code. You can find this code in your Authenticator app under the “onboard” entry
Frequently asked questions
What are Back-Up Codes and what are they needed for?
Your Back-Up Codes are automatically generated security codes that can be used once. Ideally, you will never need them, but if you no longer have access to your Authenticator app, for example because your smartphone broke, you can use one of these Bak-Up Codes to log in to onboard.
Store these codes in a safe place.
I have lost my smartphone and have no backup codes. How can I log in?
Write to the responsible HR manager in your company. He or she can request a two-step registration reset from onboard.
Do I need to reset auto sign-in when I uninstall an app or get a new phone?
Yes. If you uninstall the app or get a new phone, follow the setup steps with the new phone.
